The current name was created with a name change in 1946, going back to the roots of the club which was formed in 1890 (Yeovil Football Club) when they shared grounds with the town's rugby club. They moved and changed their name in 1895 to Yeovil Casuals, home games were at the Pen Mill Athletic Ground. Nowadays Yeovil play their home games at the 9,400 capacity Huish Park in Somerset.
Yeovil play their home games in kit of green and white hooped shirts, with white shorts and socks. The Yeovil away strip like many others in the leagues is all black. The team is nicknamed The Glovers a throw back to the town being a glove making centre in the past.
