Walsall Football Club were founded in 1888 when Walsall Town and Walsall Swifts joined forces, they entered the Football League in 1892 as founder members of the then new Second Division. The Saddlers as they are nicknamed play their home games in the 11,300 capacity Bescot Stadium which was built in 1990 to replace Fellows Park their longstanding home.
