Andriy Voronin Ukraine kit

Andriy Voronin is a striker who currently plays for Dynamo Moscow in the Russian league. Voronin began his career at Borussia Monchengladbach in 1995 as a 16-year-old. He made his first team debut for the club in 1997 but spent the majority of his time at the club playing in the youth team. Having played just seven matches in the top division, Monchengladbach was relegated in 1999. Voronin stuck with them for a further season but only played two matches. As a result, he moved to fellow 2nd division side Mainz 05. He became the leading striker at the club and scored 29 goals in his two full playing seasons.

Due to the club's failure to get promoted, Voronin moved to FC Koln in 2003. Nevertheless, he only managed four league goals in 19 appearances as the club were relegated after only one season in the Bundesliga. Eager not to drop back down to the second division, the striker signed a deal with Bayer Leverkusen at the beginning of the 2004/05 season. A successful first couple of seasons at the club saw him linked with teams all over the continent. In 92 appearances, the striker managed to score 32 times.

As a result, Voronin moved to Liverpool on a free transfer at the start of the 2007/08 season. However, his time at the Premier League club was nothing short of a disaster. Surprisingly, he made a good start to his Liverpool career with three league goals in the first few matches of the 07/08 campaign. However, injury disrupted his season and he failed to reproduce that form on his return. Voronin was loaned out to Hertha Berlin for the 2008/09 season. He started to recapture some of his old form and scored 11 times in 20 league matches. Nevertheless, Liverpool and Berlin were unable to agree to terms over Voronin and he returned to Merseyside for the start of the 2009/10 campaign. However, Liverpool's season to date has been disastrous with Voronin having little impact in any of his appearances. Therefore, a move to Dynamo Moscow was agreed for £1.8 million during the January 2010 transfer window.
