The Minnesota Vikings are an American football team founded in 1961 and based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where they play their home games in the 64,000 capacity Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. They compete in the North Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL).
Vikings Post Season NFL record
The Vikings have the unfortunate record of playing in and losing four Super Bowls. They do however have one NFL League Championship from 1969 and the Vikings have won four Conference Championships, NFL Western in 1969 and NFC in 1973, 1974 and 1976. They also have 16 Division Championships and these are: NFL Central in 1968 and 1969 with NFC Central in 1970, 1971, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1989, 1992, 1994, 1998 and 2000.
Minnesota's Jersey Colours & Strip
The Vikings have stayed very true to their colours throughout and now wear a home shirt of purple with white numbers and gold trim with white pants. The away strip is a white shirt with purple numbers and gold trim, again with white pants. The helmet is purple with white horns in the form of the so called original Viking helmet.
