The Swedish team played their first international game against Norway in Gothenburg on the 12 July 1908 winning by the amazing score of 11-3. Sweden play their home games in the 37,000 capacity Rsunda Stadium, in Solna.
Sweden known as Landslaget in Swedish play their home games in yellow shirts, blue shorts and yellow socks. The shirt has been pulled on with some success on the world stage, finishing second when they hosted the World Cup in 1958, and third twice, in 1950 and 1994. Their best showing in the European Football Championship came yet again when they hosted as they reached the semi-finals in 1992.
