Stockport County Football
Stockport County were founded in 1883 as Heaton Norris Rovers, they changed to their present name in 1890. Country are nicknamed the Hatters from the town's history of hat making, they play their home games in the 10,800 capacity Edgley Park Stadium on Hardcastle Road. Stockport's ground is also home to a Premier Rugby side Sale Sharks.
Stockport play their home fixtures in a kit of blue shirts with a white strip on the chest, blue shorts and socks. County's away colours are yellow and black shirts, yellow shorts and socks. There are a couple of well known names from the game who have donned the blue and white shirt of Stockport, Micky Quinn who made 63 appearances scoring 39 goals in 1982/3 and the mercurial George best who scored two goals in three appearances for the club in 1975.
