In its current form, Accrington Stanley is one of the youngest clubs in the Football League, having only formed in 1968. However, the current ASFC was predated by a former club of the same name, which was established as Stanley Villa back in 1891. Having folded in 1966, the club was revived in its current form, two years later.
Accrington Stanley have amassed multiple championships in the lower echelons of Britain's expansive non-league system.
