The first use of the word slipper was in 1478, it refers to a soft indoor shoe, the word came from the older verb slip, and was due to the slipping of feet into the slipper. Nowadays you can get all sorts of slippers, but most football fans had to settle for the traditional slip on version with the club crest on the front. Recently though football boot slippers have been created and are proving very popular, these colourful slippers look just like brightly coloured football boots in club or country colours.
These boot slippers are just as popular if not more so than the traditional slip on versions with the club's football crest on the front, you can see a range of those available on this page for the major nations and club sides.
