Southampton 23/24 Home Kit

The 2023/24 Hummel Southampton home shirt was inspired by the 1987/89 home, which was also the exact shirt worn by Denmark in 1986. As such, the contemporary outfit featured an all-over vertical pinstripe base pattern in red and white, with the exact half of the body getting applied with a red overlay to give not just a tonal look but also to present a half-and-half design. With one of them also carrying a red overlay on its pinstriped pattern, the sleeves also carried the half-and-half-visuals. The city’s Hampshire Rose symbol was shown at the back below the collar, with micro ones forming along the pinstripes as well.

Southampton Home 2022/23 KitSouthampton’s 2022/23 Hummel home shirt took inspiration from the kits of the early ’80s, as evident by the striking central band design. The jersey, however, reversed the colours, meaning the feature graphic was now in red with the rest of the shirt in white. Adding a bit of detail to the throwback design were the black borders that flowed seamlessly to the round collar, which, in turn, contained a red piping. A geometric pattern representing the iconic stanchions of St. Mary’s Park filled the rest of the body. Hummel’s templated shoulder chevrons appeared in red.

The shirt returned the familiar white and red striped look of the club during the previous seasons. The sleeves were plain red with black pipings, while the v-collar with a front overlap was black with red and white pipings sitting on top of the other. Black pinstripes separated the red and white verticals. Hummel’s trademark chevrons appeared in dark red on the shoulders and in light grey as a subtle all-over graphic that blended with the striped design of the body.

Southampton Away 2020/21 KitThe 2020/21 away kit of Southampton FC continued the acknowledgement of the Saints’ football history. The away shirt was primarily navy blue, a nod to the navy blue shorts and socks worn by the club from 1891 to 1950. It also incorporatedroyal blue sleeve cuffs and v collar whose base has an inverted trapezoid cover. The edges of the collar exposed a yellow internal liner and so as the front side of the sleeve with the Under Armour and LD Sports logos using the same shade of yellow. Southampton Third 2020/21 KitJust like the home shirt, the 2020/21 Saints third strip also acknlowdged the club’s origins by having a sash design, this time being colour red on a white base and going over the left shoulder. The sash design was a nod to the club’s very first kit worn during their founding year in which actual sashes were worn. The third shirt also had broad sleeve cuffs and v neckline that were in red, with the black covering and side strips, also shown on the home kit, now more visible. Tonal red pipings appeared on the upper edge of the cuffs. The entire backside was clear and only the central white trapezoid with red sash going over the left corner on the bottom edge was the application. The golden lettering on the lone application now read 135, a reference to the club’s 135th anniversary.

Men’s Southampton Shirt

Southampton Football Club, originally called St. Mary’s YMA, was formed in November 1885. In 1898 the team moved into The Dell, the ground that was to be their home for over 100 years. However, as a result of poor stadium capacity and lack of space for development, the team moved to St Mary’s Stadium in 2001.

The kit has been worn by well known names in the game such as Alan Ball, who later went on to manage the club, James Beattie, Mick Channon who went on to a distinguished career training horses, fans favourite Matthew Le Tissier, Peter Osgood and Kevin Keegan. Liverpool’s defesinve lynchpin Virgil Van Dijk also made an appearance for the saints at the beginning of his career. Their lone silverware is the 1975/76 FA Cup Title.

Southampton had used their own brand Saints as the manufacturer on some occassions, notably from 1999 to 2008 and in 2014/15. Some of its standout players include Danny Ings and James Ward-Prowse.
