Washington Redskins Football
Washington D.C. based Redskins were original started in Massachusett as the Boston Braves and joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1932. The next year they became the Boston Redskins after moving from stadiums and in 1937 moved to the capital to become the Washington Redskins.
Forbes Magazine value the Redskins as the most valuable sports team in the United States, valued at nearly 1.5 billion dollars. They are the most profitable NFL franchise and also attract the highest average attendance per game in the NFL season.
Washington have won five NFL Championships, including three Superbowls of the five they have taken part in. Their last appearance was at Super Bowl XXVI where they beat the Buffalo Bills 37-24 on January 26th in Minnesota.
The Washington Redskins colors are burgundy and gold, they are one of the few NFL teams that primarily wear white jerseys for home games, a tradition that Hall of Fame coach Joe Gibbs brought to the team in 1981. The Redskins alternate kit is burgundy jerseys with white pants.
