Lens Football
Racing Club of Lens were formed in 1907 however they first originated in 1906 unofficially, created by a group of high-school pupils. Lens play their home games at the Stade Felix Bollaert, Avenue Alfred-Maes in Lens. The stadium has a capacity of 41,000, more than the population of the town of Lens.
Lens play their home games in strip of red and gold shirts which is how they got their nickname of ´sang et or´ which means ´blood and gold´. The nickname did not originate with the first years of the Lens team as they played in black and green striped shirts, it wasn´t until 1924 when they first took on the red and gold kit.
