Peterborough United Football

Peterborough United formed in 1934, but they were not admitted to the Football League until 1960, replacing Gateshead Football Club. Peterborough who are nicknamed the Posh play their home games in the 15,314 capacity London Road ground in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.

The Posh play their home games in blue shirts with a white flash, blue shorts and socks. The away kit is the reverse white shirts with a blue flash, white shorts and socks. The club has a strong academy providing players to top clubs such as: Simon Davies (now at Everton), Matthew Etherington (now at West Ham United) and Adam Drury (now at Norwich City). A couple of well known names have also donned the club colours in Jimmy Quinn the Northern Irekland International who made 49 appearances in 1997/8 and David Seaman the English International goalkeeper who started at the club playing 91 games between 1982/84. Former club manager and now owner Barry Fry is as famous as his club.
