Manchester United have announced a partnership with the world's number 1 insurance brand; American International Group (AIG). Previous shirt sponsors Vodafone stated in November that they would end their contract two years early, this four year deal worth £56.5 million pounds is the biggest in English football, beating Chelsea's five year dal with Samsung. AIG are only the third name to appear on the shirts of Manchester United, following on from Vodafone and initial sponsors Sharp. Nike will continue thier deal to manufacturer the Man Utd kit.

The new deal is the second largest in the world, only behind Italian club Juventus who get £15 million per annum from Tamoil, a Libyan oil company.
