Manuel Neuer Germany kit
German international goalkeeper Manuel Neuer plays his club football for Bayern Munich. Neuer spent the majority of his career at Schalke04 before switching to rivals Bayern in a £22 million move. The 1.94m tall keeper made his first team debut for Schalke04 at the age of 20. In 2008 Manu, as his teammates call him, helped his team reach the UEFA Champions league quarterfinals. In the second round he made some crucial saves to keep out FC Porto, the match went to penalties and he stopped two shots to take Schalke to the quarters.
The following year, Neuer was in the German team that won the UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship in Sweden. He kept a clean sheet in the final against England as Germany went on to win 4-0. Subsequently he was named Goalkeeper of the tournament. Neuer made his senior international debut against the United Arab Emirates on the 2nd June 2009. During the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, Neuer was selected as the number one choice in goal and helped the team to the semi-finals where they were beaten by eventual tournament winners Spain.
In July 2011 Neuer moved to Bayern Munich after signing a five year contract worth £22 million that made Neuer the second most expensive goalkeeper in football history behind Gianluigi Buffon.
After Neuer kept a clean sheet against Hoffenheim in the early part of the 2011 season, he had gone over 1000 minutes without conceding a goal; breaking former German international Oliver Kahn's record in the process.
