Sulley Muntari.s abilities were noticed by European scouts stationed in Ghana, while playing in youth tournaments. He joined Italian club Udinese in 2001, and made his debut the following season against Milan. He spent 5 seasons at Udinese making 125 appearances and scoring 8 times. Several European clubs sounded their interest in the midfielder and made offers to Udinese.
However, Sulley opted to join Premiership club Portsmouth for around £7 million in 2007. He will be an instrumental figure in Portsmouth.s attempt to qualify for Europe. He is known for his ability to score wonderful goals from well outside the box. Muntari also plays for his home nation Ghana regularly, until today registering 38 caps and 11 goals.
