Mitre are a UK manufacturer who specialise in the manufacture of balls. They state that their footballs look good and are manufactured for the specific functions of playing a professional match, training or for recreational use. This does mean they have a wide range to choose from. With this in mind we have identified a few from the range to comment on, and this will not include all those listed.
Varieties of Mitre Football
The first and top of the range are the Max with three choices, the Ultimax used by semi-pro clubs and only for use on natural surfaces, the Pro Max for use on natural turf and astro and the Max a professional quality match ball, ideal for all standards of football at senior and junior level. All these balls are Fifa approved.
The mid range balls are the: Mitre Monde Footballs this is a soft touch pu match ball, professional lining system, chemically treated for all weather performance. For use on natural and artificial surfaces. Great match ball for junior football. The Mitre Ultimatch and Mitre Ultimatch Footballs Fluo Yellow are also ideal match balls for junior clubs or as high quality training balls. These are also soft touch and for use on natural and artificial surfaces.
The entry level match or training balls are the: Mitre Vapor Football a new ball for 2007 and replacement for previous X-Treme users, suitable for both grass and astro turf with 100% pearlised PU, the Mitre Tactic Football an exceptional value vulcanised rubber training ball it can be used on all surfaces and the Mitre Calcio Football one of the most widely used training balls in junior football around the country. Durable pvc for use on natural turf and artificial surfaces. Exceptional value.
Mitre also do a range of balls specifically for Futsal, these are the: Cosmos, Meteor, Stratos and tempest. The Stratos is the top of the range match ball, with the Cosmos for match or training. The Meteor and Tempest are both training balls. All these balls have a filled bladder which enables true flight in the air and reduced rebound to 30%. The Stratos is suitable for all Futsal surfaces whereas the others are suitable for most.
The last ball in the range is the Mitre Astro Match Football, these balls are a ball developed specifically for astro pitches and have great wear characteristics as well as water resistance properties.
