Diego Maradona was born in Argentina on 30 October 1960. He is one of the world.s most popular player in football history. He used to play as a striker and attacking midfielder. Maradona started his career off with Argentinos Juniors, where he made his official debut in football. He then had spells at Boca Juniors and Barcelona before travelling to Italy to enjoy an extensive seven year deal with Napoli. Here he made 259 appearances for the Naples club, managing to bag 115 goals. He then had a one-year spell at Sevilla. Maradona finished his career at Boca Juniors.
In his career, Maradona made a massive 590 appearances scoring 311 goals. He also had an excellent record with his national team, Argentina, bagging 34 goals in 91 appearances. His most controversial goal scored is in the quarter-final match against England in 1986, where he scored Argentina.s first goal of the match using his hand, known as the Hand of God.
Maradona played in four World Cups, and after being voted the best player of the 20th century in 2000, Maradona was awarded the people.s choice FIFA Player of the Century award. Maradona was suspended from football for 15 months in 1991 after he failed a doping test for cocaine in Italy, at Napoli. He was suspended again in 1994 for ephedrine during the 1994 World Cup in USA. Maradona has serious ill health problems and has managed to overcome his cocaine addiction.

Primera Division in 1981 with Boca Junios, Copa Del Rey, Spanish Super Cup and Caopa de La Liga with Barcelona. With Napoli he won various achievements including the Serie A and Coppa Italia, UEFA Cup, and Capocannoniere in 1988. He also won the 1986 FIFA World Cup with Argentina.Maradona also had two years as a coach, guiding Mandiyu de Corrientes and Racing Club de Avellaneda, winning a cup with the latter team.
