Manchester City Football
Manchester City were formed in 1887 and until 1894 played under the name of Ardwick FC. Manchester City play their home games at the City of Manchester Stadium, Rowsley Street, Manchester. The stadium was built for the 2002 Commonwealth games and was given to the club by the city so that their old ground at Maine Road could be used for development.
Man City nicknamed just City or the Blues, wear home shirts of light blue with white necks. A famous face who donned the shirt was Sir Matt Busby who went on to be much better known for his management of big local rivals Manchester United.
Citys most expensive signing was Nicolas Anelka in June 2002 bought from Paris St. Germain (France) for £13 million, in reverse their best sale was Georgi Kinkladze to Ajax (Holland) for £4.925 million in May 1998.
