Claude Makelele France kit
Makelele moved to France when he was 4 years old, and spent enough time in the country to obtain French nationality. He started his professional career at French club Nantes in 1992 where he spent 5 seasons, scoring 9 goals in 188 appearances.
He was captured by Marseille where he spent just one season, 1997-98, making 32 appearances and scoring twice. In 1998 he was transferred to Celta Vigo where he spent two successful seasons. After getting to know of growing interest from the Real Madrid party, Makelele refused to train for Celta Vigo anymore, and pressured his club to sell him to the Madrid club.
At Real he made 126 appearances between 2000 and 2003, but failed to net a goal. In the year 2003, Claude Makelele was bought by Russian-owned Chelsea for £16.8 million. He is still playing for this club, and has scored two goals until now. Makelele has been a French senior player since 1995, registering 65 caps until today, without scoring a goal.
