Liverpool Football
Liverpool were formed in 1892, however they would never have existed apart from an argument over a new ground which, saw the side split into the Everton and Liverpool we have today. The owner of the ground could not secure the name of Everton, the part of Liverpool they were in so took the name of the city. Nicknamed the reds Liverpool play their home games at Anfield, Anfield Road, Liverpool.
Liverpool play their home games in kit comprising of shirts which are all red with white trim, hence the nickname. Many famous players have pulled on the shirt, such as; Ian Rush, Kenny Dalglish, Kevin Keegan, Graeme Souness, John Aldridge, Michael Owen and Ray Clemence.
The club has always had close links with the celebrity and boasts fans including Cilla Black, Jimmy Tarbuck and Ian Brodie from the Lightning Seeds, famous for the England world cup theme Three Lions with Baddiel & Skinner
