Sporting Lisbon Football
Sporting Clube de Portugal, nicknamed Leoes, Verde-e-Brancos or Lagartos are best known as Sporting Lisbon. Established in 1902 they started to use the name Sporting Lisbon in 1906.
Built for the 2004 European Championships, Sporting Lisbon use the 52,466 Jose Alvalade XXI Stadium, name after their former club president. Sporting play in the Portugese SuperLiga and have won the league title 18 times with a European Cup Winners' Cup win in 1964 along with 13 domestic cup wins.
