Detroit Lions Football
The Detroit Lions are an American football team based in Detroit, Michigan. They were formed in 1934 when they were moved from Portsmouth, Ohio and changed their name from the Portsmouth Spartans, a team which first played in 1929. The Lions play their home games in the 65,000 capacity Ford Field, Detroit. They compete in the National Football Conference (NFC) North of the National Football League (NFL).
The Lions NFL Record
The Lions have won four pre-Super Bowl NFL Championships, in 1935, 1952, 1953 and the last in 1957, but they have yet to qualify for the Super Bowl. They also have four Conference Championships, NFL National in 1952 and NFL Western, 1953, 1954 and 1957. Plus four Division Championships, NFL West in 1935 and NFC Central in 1983, 1991 and 1993.
Detriots Jerseys and Colours
the Lions wear blue jerseys with silver pants for their home games and white jerseys with the silver pants for the away. The helmets are silver with a blue leaping lion logo. The colours have stayed fundamentally the same sine the 1930's.
