Lincoln City Football
Lincoln City formed in 1884 as an amateur association club, turned professional in 1891. The team with the nickname of the Imps after the legend of the Lincoln Imp, play at the 10,127 capacity Sincil Bank in Lincolnshire. Sincil Bank has been Lincoln's home since 1895 when they moved from their John O'Gaunts ground.
City play in red and white striped shirts with black shorts and red socks. This led to their nickname often being changed to the Red Imps. The Lincoln away strip is black shirts with red shorts and black socks. The red and white stripes have been pulled on by a few well known footballers including Steve McClaren who went on to manage England (he was on loan to Lincoln in 1987), another England manager Graham Taylor who made 150 appearances between 1968 and 1972 and FA Cup winner with Wimbledon John Fashanu who scored 11 goals in 36 games for the club.
