Frank Lampard is an English central midfielder who is most notably known for playing at Chelsea where he has been since 2001 and he holds the impressive record of scoring 10 goals in every Premier League season from 2003 to 2013. Lampard has been one of the most iconic Premier League footballers of all time and his Chelsea shirt has been one the best sellers in the past decade. The English midfielder possesses world class passing, vision and penalty/free kick taking abilities.
Frank James Lampard was born in Romford, Havering, Greater London on the 20th June 1978. Lampard is known for his powerful long-range shots and prolific goalscoring abilities from midfield. He is the son of Frank Lampard, the former England full back and two-time FA Cup winner with West Ham United. His family is also related to another famous footballing family, the Redknapps.
A current England national team regular, Lampard is acknowledged as one of the most improved players in English football. He has won the English Premiership, FA Cup and Community Shield on several occasions with Chelsea plus the UEFA Champions League in 2012 and the UEFA Intertoto Cup with West Ham in 1999.
In November 2005 he was named runner-up to Brazilian midfielder Ronaldinho in the European Footballer of the Year awards. A month later he finished in second place, once again behind Ronaldinho, in the 2005 FIFA World Player of the Year awards. He was also named FWA Footballer of the Year in 2005.
