Kolo Toure Ivory Coast kit

Kolo Habib Toure of the Ivory Coast plays his club football for Manchester City in the English Premier League. He has captained the side and wears shirt number 28 in the centre of defence for City.

Toure was born on the 19th March 1981 and played for ASEC Mimosas in Abidjan during his youth career. After a trial with Arsenal he joined the London club in 2002. Initially Toure played as an attacking midfielder for the Gunners before he shifted to right back. During the 2003/04 campaign Toure was moved into the centre of defence to create a resilient partnership with Sol Campbell. The two were key elements in a campaign which saw Arsenal go undefeated and clinch the Premiership title. Toure made 225 appearances in total and scored 9 times before he joined Manchester City in the summer of 2009 for £16 million. Mark Hughes installed Toure as club captain and he scored his first league goal for city in a match against Burnley on 7th November 2009.

Toure made his debut for the Ivory Coast senior side against Rwanda in April 2000. In 2006 he played all of the elephant's games as they finished runner-up in the African Cup of Nations. Known for his attacking mind set from defence, Toure has scored four times for his country.
