'Gli Azzurri' or Italy are one of best nations teams in the world in terms of World Cup titles where they have won four Cups with the latest being in 2006. Despite the Italian flag being green, red and white the nation wear blue to honour the House of Savoia, the ruling house of Italy from 1861 to 1946 who had blue as their colour and the home shirts are manufactured by German brand Puma. Reaching the final of the 2012 UEFA Euro Italy feature several household names in their current roster including Mario Balotelli, Andrea Pirlo, Gianluigi Buffon and Stephan El Shaarawy.
The Italians play their home games in a kit of blue shirts, white shorts and blue socks. The colour light blue favoured by many Italian sports teams gives the side its nickname of the Azzuri, the shirts have featured as winners on three occasions in the World Cup. Many famous faces in football have pulled on the Italy shirt, such as; Roberto Baggio, Franco Baresi, Giuseppe Bergomi, Paolo Maldini, Paolo Rossi, Christian Vieri, Gianfranco Zola and Andrea Pirlo.
