The Icelandic national football team played their first international match against Denmark in Reykjavk, Iceland on the 17th July 1946 losing 3-0. Iceland currently play their home games in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland.
Iceland play their home games in strip of all blue and away games in all white. The blue shirt has not featured in any significant tournament wins, but probabaly their most interesting fact is that a father and son pulled on the blue shirt in the same game against Estonia on 24 April 1996 in Tallinn. Eidur Gudjohnsen came on as a substitute to replace his father Arnor.
