Sami Hyypia is a Finnish footballer who currently plays for English giants Liverpool. Hyypia plays as a central defender. The Finnish international started his career with Mypa notching 63 appearances and then enjoyed a 4 year spell with Willem II. In 1999 he joined his current club, Liverpool where he has enjoyed over 299 games in the red shirt, contributing 21 goals. He also has made 90 appearances for his national team, Finland.
His most notable honours include two Finnish Cups with Mypa, a League Cup with Liverpool together with an FA Cup, Uefa Cup, Charity Shield, European Super Cup, League Cup and the Champions League.
