Genoa Football
Genoa is a professional football club situated in Genoa, Italy. The club was founded in 1897 and are currently playing in the Serie A. Genoa play their home games at Stadio Luigi Ferraris. They are currently having an impressive return to Serie A, occupying the 8th place in Serie A and therefore ensuring that next season, they will stay in the Serie A.
During their long history, Genoa have managed to win 9 Serie A titles in 1898,1899,1900,1902,1903,1904,1914-15,1922-23,1923-24. They finished runners-up in four seasons. In 1936-37, Genoa won the Coppa Italia and 3 seasons after, they only managed to finish up runners-up to the Italian Cup.
Having had mixed experiences of Italian football, Genoa also won 6 Serie B titles. They won the second-division league in 1934-35, 1952-53, 1961-62, 1972-73, 1975-76, 1988-89. They got promoted in the 2006/07 season while they finished runners-up in 1980-81. They also won the Serie C1 league in 1970-71.The best they got in European football was semi-finalists in the UEFA cup in 1991-92.
