Arne Friedrich Germany kit
Arne Friedrich began his youth career at FC Bad Oeynhausen at the age of six. He stayed with the team's youth system for two years before moving to TuS Lohe FC in 1987. However, Friedrich moved again five years later to Herford FC before moving on again in 1995 to Gutersloh FC. He stayed with the club for four years before making his final youth career move to Veri FC in 1999.
In 2000, he moved to Arminia Bielefeld where he established himself immediately as a first team regular. In his two years with the German club, he made 47 appearances and scored just once from full back. In 2002, the defender moved to Hertha Berlin where he still remains today. Friedrich has made over 200 appearances for the team scoring 16 teams in the process. His pace and power has seen him named one of the most feared full backs in the Bundesliga throughout the 21st century.
Since his move to Hertha Berlin in 2002, Friedrich has enjoyed a long and successful international career with the German national team. His debut arrived in August 2002 during the 2-2 draw with Bulgaria. His most successful moment was throughout the 2006 World Cup as he helped the team to a third place finish. The full back was also named in the Germany squad for Euro 2008 although his first team place has been less secure in recent years.
