Last Season’s Home Shirt To Be Used as the Away Shirt for Next Season

German Bundesliga Club Werder Bremen together with their shirt makers Kappa achieved a record high during the last season. The club sold 130,000 home, away and event shirts from the Kappa collection. Werder Bremen saw a 53% rise in their overall sales.

“The sale of replica jerseys has made a sensational development and it shows just how strong the Werder Bremen brand has become. In that particular area we are at the very peak in the Bundesliga,” explained Manfred Müller, Werder’s director of marketing and management, and he continued: “We achieved the increased turnover without a title win, which is normally the reason behind such a boost in the sales of fan articles and merchandise.”

Werder have announced that for the next season the previous home shirt will serve as the new away shirt for next season.

Wow. Imagine how many they’d have sold if it was nice.

That’s retarded. Why would they use the home shirt as next year’s away shirt? That’s utterly confusing. In fact, it’s blasphemous.

Werder always alternate/occasionaly change the home kit from all gren to gren and white halfs. Tey had gren and oange halves a few years ago. They’r a bit like Lens withtraditional colurs but no set design.

Funny that because teh wrder fans had a campaign to get the orange out of their shirts and boycotted any with orange in it …. There will be even more uproar if they change their home shirt from green to white..
