Wellington Phoenix Shirts 08/09

Posted on September 23rd, 2008 in Australia by luckyliam10

Wellington Phoenix are a New Zealand team that play in the Hyundai A-League. They were formed last season after the former New Zealand team folded. They finished 2nd last on the ladder but played a lot better football than the former NZ team and have created a football atmosphere in the small nation.

The home shirt for the 2008/09 season has been designed by Reebok and is black in colour. It features a white design on the shoulders that includes a yellow collar and a few small stripes which are also yellow. The sleeves are black with a sponsor on each sleeve. The main body of the shirt has the logo’s and sponsors in the usual positions with a yellow side stripe effect. Voted the best shirt in the A-League last season it looks to continue this.

The away shirt for the 2008/09 season is white in colour it is similar to a lot of the A-League away shirts. It features a v-shaped neck and has a yellow and blue effect on the sleeves with the rest of the shirt being white. A shirt that is rarely seen because the home shirt only clashes with one other shirt Melbourne Victory.

And I thought we suffered with templates, at least the English league has more than one kit supplier, although Umbro seem to be aiming for a monopoly.

Also what ridiculous club names. It could have at least been the Wellington Boots.

Actually, the FFA forces all clubs to wear their away kits on the road, even when the kits don’t clash. So the WPFC away kit gets a show about every two weeks.
