Wales have officially released their new home kit for 2014 which will be manufactured by German brand adidas.

Wales have released their new home kit which re-ignites a long standing relationship between Wales and adidas and pays homage to the iconic kits of the 1980’s when Mark Hughes, Ian Rush, Dean Saunders and Neville Southall lined up in what became known as the Golden Generation of Welsh Football. The Wales home shirt is primarily red with white trim on the signature adidas stripes on the shoulders and sleeve hems.

adidas Area North Brand Director, Nick Craggs said, ‘Both adidas and the Welsh FA have a long and proud heritage in football and we are delighted that we are able to re-ignite that partnership. Like all Welsh supporters, adidas has a passion for the game and the National team will wear the very best in kit technology.’

With the likes of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey in their ranks Wales are an improving football nation and perhaps they are nearing a return to their golden era back in the 1980’s. The next step is to qualify for the UEFA Euro 2016 Finals.

    1. Learjet89:

      Boring adidas once again

    2. Statto74:

      Classic design, I love it!

Prefer white shorts though. I thought FIFA were only making teams who’ve qualified for tournaments wear one colour kits?

    3. Johnno:

The people at Adidas clearly not showing the Welsh any love with this boring kit unfortunately

    4. f:

bit of green on it and it would be great. its not boring whatsoever

    5. rooney is soooo ugly:

      simple … but classy

    6. El Patriato:

yeah it’s simple but in a classy way!!

    7. Greg:

@4, like the Swansea away last season?

    8. D King:

A decent effort, but a shame that Umbro goes from weak to weak

    9. Frank Sidebottom:

The contrast between this and the last Umbro effort tell you all you need to know about how much of a sh#t Adidas give about Wales.

    10. Bernie Balm:

If the middle stripe had been green this would be class.

    11. Alex:

Clean and classy first Adidas kit for them but nothing special. But think back to the first ones for Scotland and N Ireland – they were a bit plain too. Second time round and both of those nations have excellent new kits now!
