New Velez Sarsfield Home & Away shirts
One of Argentina’s most prestigious football teams, Velez Sarsfield, has launched its new shirts, one month after signing a 3-year contract with Penalty for shirt sponsorship. Penalty provides Velez with all the necessary football accessories, as well as accessories for the volleyball and basketball teams. The new shirt is very well ventilated, being the combination of 3 different types of fabric that give the shirt well-fit, light and ventilated characteristics.
New Velez 2008 Kits
The home kit has a white base colour. On the chest, two stripes (black and dark blue) form a V shape. The stripe extends to and around the shoulders, although there is a small pause between the V on the chest and the stripes on the shoulder. The Velez badge appears inside the V and above it, the logo of the shirt manufacturers Penalty. Shirt sponsors Tarjeta’ Shopping’s logo appears just below the V, in the centre. On the sleeves and on the back of the neck there are also logos of Penalty. Exactly the same design applies to the away shirt, but this time, the base colour is blue.
Preferred it without the black on the ‘V’. It adds nothing but detracts substantially from a classic shirt design making both look like someone else’s third strip. Girondins de Bordeaux’s Puma strip diminishes their classic ‘V’ design to next to nothing too. Shame.
Absolutely spot on, Augustus. The sponsor’s dowdy sounding name isn’t doing the shirt any favours, either.
