Vasco da Gama Third Shirt 2011

Here is the new Penalty third shirt of Brazilian club Vasco da Gama. The club was founded in 1898 and currently play inthe Brazilian Serie A.

During the 2010 Brazilian Serie A season, the club finished in eleventh place and won a place in the 2011 Copa Sudamericana Second Stage.

The new third shirt, manufactured by Penalty, has been designed based from a 1920s model. The shirt is mainly black featuring a long white collar with the words Democracy and Inclusion included on the collar (to show the club’s stance against racism). The Maltese Cross is placed on the top center part of the shirt. The club crest is replaced by the club’s apparent response to racism logo. Penalty logo is placed on the top right part of the shirt.

  2. TOP:

The more I look at it the more I like it. Like the ‘retro’ numbers

  3. hellasleaf:

whoa, now that is different. I love it!

  4. Donnie Darko:

The cross it’s the “cross patte” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross_patt%C3%A9e” )but they wanted a “order of christ cross” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_Christ_Cross) that was originally used by the Portuguese Order of Christ. Since then it has become a symbol of Portugal, used on the sails of the carracks during the Discoveries Era. Vasco da Gama was named after the portuguese sailor that discovered Brazil.

  5. k.n:

I think they ruined a nice shirt. What the star is doing up there with ”democracy” and racism logo is too big.

  6. cjmoe:
