2008 USA Nike Home Shirt
The new Nike made United States of America home kit is white with a thin blue collar, blue Nike logo on the right chest and blue cuffs. The US badge is on the left hand side of the new shirt, which features hoops of red piping around it. There are about six hoops around the front, but less at the back as Nike have left space for the player name & number to be clear.
USA 2008 Nike Jersey

Inside the collar is a stars and stripes detailing either side of the words “Don’t Tread On Me”. This jersey replaces the 2007 version which was white with blue & red vertical lines running behind the US badge on the left hand side. The States will wear the shirt for the first time against Mexico in a friendly match at Houston’s Reliant Stadium on Wednesday, February 6th 2008.

gr8 kit
goin to purchase that indeed
all they need to do now is stop using that stupid term ’soccer’ and change the name of their federation too
I do like it.
However I’ve to say something about the US badge:
why stripes are blue and white and the stars are in red field???
And then, why the white space for the clearness of name and number??It would be very clear also over the thin red hoops.
It’s the same concept about UEFA rules, that ruin striped shirts imposing a monochromatic space on the back, like in Inter,Barcelona,Milan shirts…very ridiculous.
What do you think about this?
How many times do you mugs need to be told that soccer is originally an English term? Just because you call it football doesn’t mean that’s the official “name” of the game. The actual name IS soccer… muppet.
nice top the original name is football assoication
its defo football you american
its football fool, and dont use the name rooney, your low intelligence reflects badly on him yankee boy. go back to your cookies now…
what an amazing kit. love it!!
“Soccer” derives from Association Football, as “Rugger” is still used as a shorthand for Rugby Football. When the two sports were more closely identified in the early years the two terms were needed to differentiate more clearly between the hacking and the passing games. Those teams which favoured hacking became rugby sides, Blackheath being famously the first to do so, and those preferring the latter code became “soccer” clubs, such as early exponents Wanderers & Royal Engineers..
“World Soccer”, the best English language football magazine in my opinion dates from 1960 long before the NASL seemed to bring the term “soccer” to us in an American context, and ensured misplaced anti-Americanism was brought into the mix at the same time.
As for the shirt I like it, but would like a return to the red sash from the 1950 World Cup finals, which I think was resurrected a couple of years ago by Nike for a short time at least, and had a style this shirt lacks.
its ugly.USA sucks. go iran
“its ugly.USA sucks. go iran”
Well said. Don’t you have rainbow numbers?
yea and no matter what, we will still beat u in the World cup. 2-1 98 WC ah, ah

iran… dont even get me started. 1998 was ten years ago…
back to the shirt… you either love it or hate it. a lot of yanks think it looks like ****. personally, i wasnt sure when i first saw it, but now its growing on me. definately an original design.
FDV I agree where you are coming from but it is basically to help referees and also journalists like it as they can see the number better wihout the stripes. Nice kit tho.
