David Beckham AC Milan Shirt #32
David Beckham has been officially unveiled as a new AC Milan player today and it is now official that he will wear the shirt number 32 and not 75 as reported. Beckham will have a relatively short spell at Milan that saying, he will return to L.A. Galaxy after march 9 as the season break will end in the US. Beckham seems to have missed top flight football and thus the return to European football was no surprise for him.
“I’ve always said I would miss playing at the highest level,” said the 33-year-old Los Angeles Galaxy player, who was unveiled in Milan on Saturday.
“I’m not saying that in America they won’t get to the highest level – it will take time and it will happen.
“But with five months off during the season I personally can’t do that.”
Milan’s first match in January sees them face off Roma in tough encounter for the Rossoneri and this could be the Englishman’s first match in the red and black. An injury list which includes Kaka, Pirlo and Gattuso on it will mean that Beckham could not have come at a better time to try and give a helping hand to Milan.
Chief Executive Galliani confirmed that Beckham will only have less than three months at the club.
“David Beckham will stay with Milan up to 9 March. The last match is Milan v Atalanta on 8 March. I don’t want to delude anyone,” he said.
Can I be the first to say “told you so”! A fake milan shirt with Beckham’s name on the back was never proof that he’d be number 75!
