Birmingham City Managing DirectorIn a a multi million pound, three year deal starting next season the England kit manufacturers Umbro will be the official supplier of all Birmingham City playing & training kit. Current suppliers Lonsdale will be replaced for the 2007/08 season in the contract which will run till 2010.

“To add a progressive club like Birmingham City to our list of clubs we supply kit to is fantastic news for the brand and it provides UMBRO with a further platform in the Midlands.”

Karren Brady, Managing Director of Birmingham City welcomed the deal by saying:

“I am delighted to be able to announce our partnership with Umbro… We have worked extremely hard over the last few months to find a technical partner we feel shares our future aspirations and believe Umbro come into that category… Umbro is not only an internationally recognised brand, but also a leading figure in the world of football.”

A new shirt sponsor is also on the way.

I also congratulate both Blues and Umbro on the new partnership and hope that we have a mutually beneficial 3 years crammed full of success with lots of trophies. However, being one of the many blues fans that require an XXL shirt I am worried that Umbro’s small sizing policy will not afford me the oportunity to wear my team colours. Our previous kit supplier offerered generously sized replica kits but traditionally Umbro sizes appear smaller and less generously cut. So good luck to the Blues but I fear that I won’t be able to wear my colours next season.

I really want to see the style of kit we’ve got now!

I’d like one like this season’s Everton kit, but IMO the England home kit is boring and don’t want it that style.

I’dve prefered Adidas to Umbro, but still, it’s got to be better than Chavdale!

I’m an everton fan, and am actually outraged by the new sponsorship deals. Everton’s deal with Umbro is through JJB and isnt as high-profile as Birmingham’s, West Ham’s, Sunderlands, Hull City’s or WBA’s
Even though Everton are a higher profile club.
Oh and IMO Lonsdale kits are made by Diadora.

we know Lonsdale are made by diadora, as bluse changed from diadora on the kit to lonsdale, within the same contract, but we still have lonsdale on the shirt
