Ukraine Home Shirt 2010/12
Ukraine did not manage to qualify for the 2010 World Cup, only by a single goal they conceded in the Knockout Second Round of the World Cup qualifiers against Greece. The Greeks booked the plane to South Africa in place of the former-Soviet nation. The Ukrainians may have missed out on the World Cup, but hey will certainly feature in Euro 2012 as they are co-hosts with Poland. In their history, the Ukrainians only qualified for the 2006 World Cup, and never for the European Championships. Ukraine are increasingly becoming a force in Europe. They even managed to beat England in the World Cup qualifiers home fixture on the 10th October 2009 by the score of 1-0 (Nazarenko). Their good performances ended the hopes of Croatia to qualify for the World Cup, as they finished one point behind Ukraine in the Group 6. In the qualification stage, their star player Andriy Shevchenko scored 6 goals. Ukraine are currently (February 2010) ranked 24th in the FIFA rankings.

Adidas have presented the Ukrainian football federation with the new home shirt that the national team players will wear between 2010 and 2012, with a new home shirt expected before the European Championship 2012. The shirt will be used mainly for friendlies, as the team does not have to go through the qualification phase. They have scheduled friendly matches against Ghana, Algeria, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Canada and Czech Republic in 2010. The new shirt is dominated by a yellow base colour, with the only details in blue being on part of the collar, on the trademark stripes of Adidas, and on thin piping on the chest and sides.
