Sunderland’s 2007/08 Third Shirt
When Sunderland play Galway United next week they will be wearing their new all blue third kit, this is required for when both the home & away shirts clash against the opposition.
The start of the 2007/08 season is the one and only time that Black Cats fans will see three brand new kits, in subsequent years the last season’s away shirt will become the 3rd shirt.
07/08 Sunderland 3rd Kit
The blue shirt uses manufacturer’s Umbro’s 07/08 template, with a v-neck collar, and diamonds over the shoulders and patterning under the arms down the side of the shirt. It will be worn with matching blue socks & shorts. The shirts will be On sale from Thursday 2nd August this Sunderland third shirt is a limited edition so there will be not be a large stock on sale to fans.
The only surprise is the colour. Same bog standard Umbro design. Who at SAFC chose this kit? Couldn’t have been Keano or Quinny cos it’s a bloody Rangers shirt!! I’m also a Celtic fan and if I were to buy this I’d get some stick.

yeh angelo tottenham hav 4 shirts for their 125th anniversary, one fo which they are gonna wear once! its just getting ridiculous now. i think three shirts is too many unless there are clashes.

Our Lonsdale kits of last season were much better. Plain and simple. Umbro can stick their diamonds up their arses.
red and white for when they play blackburn and wigan (and birmingham). the red is dominant enough that it will still be obvious. sunderlands black shorts won’t clash, so it shouldnt be too much of a problem. there have been a few instances in recent years where red and white has been worn against blue and white no problem.
the only club they would have problems with is heerenveen
i think that this shirt is nice, much better than what newcastle can come up with.

Why is everyone going on about the way that “every Umbro shirt has diamonds on the shoulders,” when every single Adidas kit ever made has three stripes going down the sleeves and shorts?
thats is a terrible kit. it looks like that terrible royal blue of the hun rangers. i mean where does umbro come from with this idea of BRIGHT blue. like i mean why not go all black. and bertie u r 100% dead on right
