Sunderland Goalkeeper kit 08/09

Posted on May 30th, 2008 in Sunderland by Ben1991

Sunderland have revealed the kit which goalkeeper Craig Gordan and others will be wearing for next season on their website.

Sunderland Goalkeeper

The shirt is all green (which reflects on sunderlands large irish connection) with grey piping around the collar and shoulders. The clubs badge is on the left od the shirt and the makers, Umbro, have their logo on the top right of the shirt. The clubs sponsor, Boylesports, have their name and logo accross the middle of the shirt.

The shirt will be worn with grey shorts and grey socks. The kit will be available to buy from the clubs stores and website from Monday 2nd of June.

I think it is good to wear and also it’s better than last season’s kit by far. I would say it is better than Middlesbrough and Newcastle so yes i would buy the kit and feel good in it, COME ON SUNDERLAND.

Green to please Sunderland’s Irish supporters! I thought Irish people supported Liverpool or Manchester United.

Call me an old romantic, but I would have thought that Sunderland’s keeper was wearing green, allbeit light green, because this was the traditional colour for goalkeepers’ shirts before kit manufactorers decided to mess with tradition.

D King your a ******, it has nothing to do with the Irish. It is just a very different colour from the home and away kits. Don’t be ignorant you limy ******* (no offence to the other English lads out there.)

Cathal, you’ re the ******. It says in the article that its probs for Irish fans. D King is actually saying it isn’t for Irish fans. How about you read the article next time.

Wrong green, and why grey as as second colour? Awful combination

    Woeful colors.

  13. Cal said,

The article didn’t say the team had Irish supporters, just an Irish connection, namely Niall Quinn, Roy Keane and 7 or 8 Irish players. Though funnily enough none of them are goalkeepers.

    And the kit is filthy.
    It deserves relegation.

The green is to represent the cup final goal keeping colors. It does look quality when you see it for real.

Its far better than Newcastle’s sick colored keepers top.
