Stolen Dumbarton Shirts Turn Up On Ebay

Posted on July 7th, 2008 in Dumbarton by swji

A number of Dumbarton’s new kits were stolen and placed on Ebay, the club has revealed. A statement from kit manufacturer Surridge confirms that a number of the club’s new strips were listed on the auction site last week and were met by bids from fans eager to get hold of their club’s new kit.

The statement reads as follows:

“The strips should not have ended up on the internet and it would be an offence to buy one of the stolen tops.

“The Dumbarton strips were part of a larger batch including other Scottish teams products which were stolen prior to arrival at Surridge and that the police are undertaking an investigation.”

The club has urged fans to only buy good from the official website and club shop - an announcement is due to be made this week.

I’m afraid you’ll have to accompany me down to the station Bob. Handling stolen goods can lead to a jail sentence of upto five years. Supporting Dumbarton can lead to a life sentence of taunting, bullying and being laughed at by small children.
