Spain Confederations Cup shirt 2009
Spain have revealed their new home shirt that the team will wear for the 2009 Confederations Cup in South Africa.
The shirt is Spain’s traditional colour of mostly red. There is a black band running down the right side of the shirt with gold bands running ether side of it. The team badge is on the left of the shirt and the makers, Adidas, have their logo in the top centre of the shirt and have their three stripes running down both sleeves in gold. the shirt is worn with navy shorts and socks.

Nice shirt, it’s good to see that Adidas have changed the shirt template and this style isn’t on any other Adidas shirt. Or perhaps there will be more shirts to come e.g the Germany shirt with this template. Where is Torres on this photo!? The other four Spanish Liverpool players are on it but the best one isn’t.
Torres probably isn’t because he’s got a Nike sponsorship. Reina, Riera, Arbeloa & Alonso all wear Adidas boots, so possible something like that.
It’s like England’s kit, tends to be Michael Owen, John Terry & David James – all Umbro boot wearers

theyre all adidas sponsored players. notice iker, cesc, torres etc. arent there and theyre the best players.

I like it, hope they start using this template for other kits. I’m very impessed by adidas’s most recent designs. Take notice nike.

adidas already use this template for MLS teams and Ukraine. That says it all I think.
Isn’t the band navy blue not black?, or the shirt will look like a spitting image of a Trini shirt.
This is the Houston Dynamo template. sorry to burst your bubbles. the one advantage mls has by starting their season in march is that their clubs introduce all of adidas’s templates.
Well its a shock to the system, certainly not “boring” It looks more Trinidad and Tobago than spain – Yorkie should come out of retirement again, if they get this template

It’s war paint….Espana’s nicknames are the Furia Roja and the Indios….even though they aren’t “Indians” or Native Americans. In Spain, “political correctness” is much different and they use the name playfully, much like Brasilians do with their team and player names.
Spain always had nice kits, until now. The wild stripes spoil it for me. Keep the silly stuff for training shirts. I hope Adidas don’t make such a mess of Liverpool’s kits for next season.
