QPR Unveil New Club Crest

Posted on May 6th, 2008 in Queens Park Rangers by zebra10

Queen Park Rangers Football Club unveiled their new Club Crest last Sunday. This new logo strengthens the team’s belief to start a new chapter at Loftus Road. The new crest is a mixture of elements of the Club’s heritage to depict the past, present and future with the traditional popular Hoops being re-integrated into the official logo.

“This is a significant day for Queens Park Rangers Football Club and it was important for the fans to see the new crest first”, commented Flavio Briatore, Chairman of QPR Holdings Ltd.

“I am delighted with the design of the new crest, which maintains the Queens Park Rangers tradition of blue and white hoops. I know how important it is to the fans that the hoops remain, and that was always going to be the case.”

Briatore continued with saying that this was a period of huge change at QPR and thus the new crest comes just in time. Bernie Ecclestone also strengthen the fact that the new crest is a sign of improvement at the Club, “I feel that the new crest that we are launching today really shows we are moving forward as a Club.”

The new crest will compliment the new style that Lotto Sport Italia have designed for the new kit which will be unveiled soon.

    Ah Briatore,ma vaffanc..o !

The crest would be perfect with the QPR old logo instead of the ball, they are in time to change it as I suggest!!

I think from a design point of view it’s a step backwards and looks pretty generic, TBH. Why every club crest needs to look like it was done with Adobe Illustrator now, I’ll never understand…

i would have liked to see them keep the QPR from the current badge, i feel the central badge looks too bland and overly simplistic

I prefer the old badge. This one mixes the worst parts of tradional badges with the worst parts of modern badges. It won’t last long. (still better than Leeds and Fulham’s badges though). Chelsea and Spurs have showen how to change a badge successfully.

Looks awful, something you would see on the front of one of a book about a fictional football team

I cant see the point of changing a club badge which has been part of the club’s tradition. Perhaps the club should have consulted the fans about any proposed change as it is the fan’s club after all!I think the ball should have been the old QPR logo.
