Puma officially the new Independiente suppliers
As we have already correctly anticipated, the Argentine club known as the Red Devils has agreed terms with mega sposrtwear designers and manufacturers Puma for the supply of the playing, training and leisure apparel. The German manufacturers already have a strong base of clubs and nations alike in the industry of football. Independiente have become the fourth team sponsored by the sportwear giant in Argentina. They are not to be mixed up with similarly-named Independiente Rivadavia, a less popular team, who are also supplied by this company. The kits for the club from Greater Buenos Aires will be unveiled on the 22nd February.

But this will not be a normal unveiling ceremony. It will be very special, especially for the 11 Independiente supporters who are lucky enough to be used to be the first people to pose in the new kit. The selction will take place through a competition on website http://www.ponetelaroja.com/ where fans can register. Fans of this club are urged to apply. This may be your only chance to make yourself part of your club’s history. Fans will have to vote on the most important Independiente event in history and the best legend players of the club. The new official Puma-designed kit will be unveiled just before the derby match against Racing, which will be the 3rd game in the 2009 Clausura tournament.
The first two games will feature two specially-designed kits: the first one (vs Velez) with a shield picturing the memorable event, and the second one (vs San Martin de Tucuman) picturing the 11 legends voted by the fans. Although it is yet unofficial, it is strongly rumoured (through AACCF) that sports drink Powerade, owned by Coca-Cola, will have their logo on the Independiente sleeves.
Special thanks for this information goes to Todo Sobre Camisetas and Arte y Sport.

You know what team Puma should provide kits for?
