Preston announce 3 year Canterbury deal

Posted on April 11th, 2009 in Preston North End by zebra10

Preston North End have revealed that they agreed a record kit deal with Canterbury which will see the club with Canterbury sportswear and kits as from the start of the 2009/10 season. The deal runs for 3 years and Canterbury will be responsible for the supply of kits and training wear for the first team, youth team, and women’s team.

Derek Shaw, club chairman commented, “We are delighted to be teaming up with such a successful and progressive manufacturer as Canterbury of New Zealand. The new designs for both the match kit and trainingwear have involved a lot of people and a lot of time and effort and I am sure the supporters will be impressed with both the design and quality of the products we will be able to offer from next season.”

Preston’s Top Scorer, Neil Mellor seems to have been given the opportunity to see the kits beforehand and he likes them.

“The kits are excellent! I am looking forward to wearing them with pride. Players who have worn Canterbury at other Clubs have always been very impressed by its quality and this looks just as good. I am sure the fans will be impressed and I hope to score plenty of goals in it.”

The club will unveil the new home and away strips in the coming weeks as pre-orders will start on April 18.

I hope Preston’s kit gets treated better than Portsmouth.

The Pompey shirts have been ugly. Canterbury have changed the shirt from Royal blue to a medium blue, changed the colours from blue and white to blue an gold, and plastered it with Canterbury logos.

Portsmouth kit is probably the worst in the Premier League, expect Preston to wear all silver next season

didn’t CCC get in the running for best kit on here?

and they only changed it because portsmouth asked them to for thier “110 year” thing, lets not bag CCC for that and they are chaging back to blue white and red next year

    good on PNE

When Canterbury started sponsoring Portsmouth I was delighted as I loved their work within rugby. However, their luster has faded as quickly as the average Newcastle manager. The annoying, excessive piping, over-sized shoulder logos, wierd colour tones – hope they do well by Preston.
