Premier League Shirts Cup Semi-Finals Draw

Following our last quarter final of our very own Premier League Shirts Cup, we can now publish the results and the fixtures of the Semi-Finals.

Blackburn edged out Tottenham with 51.7% of the votes while West Ham gained 52.9% of the votes in their match-up against Chelsea’s shirts. The results for Burnley and Manchester City were quite dominant in their respective match ups as Burnley won 59.8% over Arsenal whilst Manchester City gained a massive 70.6%.

The draw for the semi finals is as follows:

Burnley vs Blackburn

West Ham vs Manchester City

Burnley’s Shirts are manufactured by errea and the latter even allowed for the club not to feature the errea logo on the home shirt as to keep it as traditional as possible. A very classic claret and blue home shirt with a very plain white away shirt again featuring though the club’s claret and light blue colours.

Blackburn’s shirts are manufactured by Umbro. The club’s home shirt is split into two halves, white and blue. The collar and the sleeve ends are red, white and blue.
The away shirt is on the other hand mainly white but again featuring blue and red as these are the club’s traditional colours.

West Ham’s shirts are also manufactured by Umbro. The home shirt features a chequered pattern and is mainly claret featuring light blue touches.
The club’s away shirt is mainly navy blue with a light blue vertical sash on the front of the shirt. The collar is a round light blue one with a thin white line running through.

Last but not least, Manchester City who have their kits also manufactured by Umbro. Their home kit is quite plain and simple, being mainly light blue and featuring a white round collar. The club’s away shirt is mainly black with a touch of gold.

The draw thus sees 3 teams having their shirts manufactured by Umbro whilst Burnley, the other team having its shirts made by Errea.
This thus definitely makes it more probably that the winning shirt will be one that is manufactured by Umbro although everything can happen since you will be deciding who has the best shirts through the Premier League Shirts Cup Semi-Final and Final polls we will soon be running.

Umbro are the shirt manufacturers of six Premier League teams and apart from those who managed to make it through to the semis, the Nike subsidiary company is the shirt manufacturer of Birmingham, Hull as well as Sunderland. Errea on the other hand only makes Burnley’s shirts out of the 20 teams in the Premier League.

What factor do you think gave Umbro 3 slots in our semi-finals? Big teams like Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal failed to make it through… Errea are much smaller when compared to Nike and Adidas, and have made it through to the semi-finals. How do you prefer your favourite team’s kits? Classic, simple and traditional? Or maybe modern designs?

Voting for the Semi-Finals open tomorrow.

  16. Flec:

The Rovers shirt looks like a clowns suite – which is appropriate!
The Burnley one is a timeless classic and should go through.

  17. bobba:

Just wondering if looking at the strips above, Who ate all the pies? is a better question or do Man city only employ size 6 wags!!!!!

  18. jimbob biriani:

Didn’t the traditional bbn kit have quartered shirts.? City look so much better without the electric blue of a few years ago. Think the city pics are for the wags dresses not shirts.

  19. bob:

ok Burnely one is classic , Rovers one would do as toilet paper

Look, a lot of people on various Rovers forums know who Vinjay is, I am well known, I have spent a lot of time putting my name in the spotlight and creating my image, I don’t need people pretending to be me. Stop hijacking my name.
    Vinjay.

  23. vinjay606:

yes its true i am well known on various forums, but get a life. why are you trying to be me, make your own name for yourself and leave me alone.
