Pre-order: World Cup 2010 Matchball

The matchball that will be used in next summer’s World Cup will be unveiled on the 4th December. On this date, and in the same ceremony, the groups and fixtures for the much-anticipated competition will be drawn. The event will take place at 17:00 UTC (6 pm UK time) in the Cape Town International Convention Centre in South Africa. The seedings for the draw will be presented on the 2nd December, and will be based on past World Cup performance as well as the FIFA rankings of October 2009, as FIFA have recognised that some countries have an advantage in November’s rankings due to the play-off matches.

It is obvious that the style of the ball with respect African tradition. Major sportswear retailers such as our partners Kitbag are receiving pre-orders for the ball, selling for £79.99, to be dispatched on the 5th December. All we know about the design of the Adidas ball is that it will have white, black and yellow colours. Replica (£14.99) and miniball (£5.99) versions are also available through Kitbag for all those who do not want to spend so much on an identical matchball.
