Posted on September 20th, 2008 in Houston Dynamo by Ben1991

Is this the next Houston Dynamo home shirt that the team will wear for the 2009 MLS season?

the shirt is Houston Dynamo’s home colour of Orange. the collar is sky blue and there is sky blue piping on the right shoulder and down the leght side of the shirt. The bottom half of the left sleeve and part of the left side is also sky blue. The club badge is on the left of the shirt and the makers, Adidas have their logo in the centre of the chest and have their three stripes runnig down each sleeve in white. The shirt ha the MLS badge of the right sleeve and the flag of America on the left sleeve. The club sponsor, amigo energy, have their name and logo in th centre of the shirt.

The picture of the shirt was used as an adertisment for 2009 season tickets. It is unknown whether or not this is the actual shirt the team will wear.

I think the 2009 shirt will have 3 stars on it.

Who cares? I hate American soccer.

i like the design but the colors make it look hideous

Not bad, I like it. Huston always has good kits.

Alexandre, shut up. Only an American would use the word “soccer”, yet you still bash American soccer. It’s improving, so shut up and go off and pretend to be European by bashing the American league. Support your local team, and one day we’ll be on par with Spain or England. Or you can just keep bashing it, and look stupid. Your choice.

Nick, shut up, how will it be any where near as good as spain or england, now thats just darn right stupidity mate.

    Orange and sky blue?
Replace the sky blue with black or white to make it stronger.
The 2008 kit looks better than this 2009 design.

Hi Nick, I’m from Brazil. I’m used to see the best football, and tell you once again: I hate American “football”, as you wish.

My god, this is bloody awful.

Not keen on this colour combination. Maybe one day US club football will be as strong as other leagues. I hope so. I’m not sure if you could say Houston have “always” had great kits, as I have socks older than the club itself. The last couple have been OK though, if a bit bright.

Brazil has some truly great clubs but the best thing about Brazilian club football is you are nearly always guaranteed to get a ticket, and be able to spread out and make yourself comfortable,.Most ordinary club games won’t suit you if you get lonely though, so be warned.

This has absolutely no class. Why can’t adidas produce a simple, clean kit like Nike and Puma? Somebody at adidas needs to be fired. adidas needs to learn something about symmetry. Why the strange lines off the collar? Why one sleeve a different color? Can someone explain this?

Houston Dynamo… only club in the world with a sombrero on their kit… thanks to the sponsor.

  15. Bayou City said,

thats because they only care about getting Mexican fans, this the stupid sponsor and moronic sponsorship design. But the Kits is ugly as ****. Leave it to Adidas to design the thing and the Dynamo front office to agree to wear it.

I hope this is not going to be the Adidas template for next season. If so I envisage mass disgust in West London, and Merseyside next season. (The Geordies will be ok as the template won’t be used for striped kits. If so it would make the think and thin stripes Umbro shite of the late 80’s look good.

You may have a point about getting Mexican (immigrant) fans interested in the US. However, the Mexican league has existed for a relatively long time in comparison, with long-established rivalries between clubs and very passionate fans. I have difficulty in seeing Mexican fans detract their attention away from the well-established Mexican league and the prestigious Copa Libertadores. Also, given the rivalry between the US and Mexican national teams, there’s even less chance of allegiance towards MLS.

Augustus, I watch football for over two decades, and I’ve seen players like Zico, Sócrates, Falcão and many other greats. The football in Brazil today have some very deep structural problems that I won’t talk about here, but I can tell You, North American football won’t ever achive that level. Not even British.

  19. Bayou City said,

    Ron Death,

I agree but I have had season tickets since the creation of this team and trust me, 75% of the people who attend the games CAN NOT speak English, or excuse me American, I don’t want to offend the UK by saying the US speaks English.

Another asymmetrical kit ,yawn, when are manufacturers going to do away with these terrible designs. They’re trying to be clever but they most certainly are not.

  21. Ron Death said,

    Bayou City,

If you’ve got a season ticket and have experienced the situation first hand, then I can’t argue with that! I bet most Americans speak better English than some of our English managers, especially Steve “Uses Broken English when he’s in Holland, even though most Dutch people speak better English than him” McLaren.

  22. Andy said,

i Think this kit is crakin

  23. Kevin said,

Bayou City - Not sure which section you sit in, but everybody in my section speaks English. Maybe they don’t ALWAYS speak English, but they do. You are completely incorrect.

On to the shirt … it sucks. That is one replica I will not be buying. Unfortunately I get a free one with my renewal.

  24. andrew said,

I had no idea that logo was supposed to be a sombrero.
