PLSC Round One: Sunderland vs Blackburn

Posted on November 8th, 2009 in Premier League Shirts Cup by zebra10

Our next Premier League Shirts match-up features Sunderland and Blackburn. In the previous match-up, which was practically ‘the clash of the clarets’, Burnley beat Aston Villa after wrapping up a surprising 62.3% of the votes. Thus Nike’s modern template was not preferred over Burnely’s Errea shirts.

In this week’s vote, both teams have their shirts manufactured by Nike subsidiary, Umbro. The vote runs for a week, meaning it will close on November 15 2009.

This is a hard one, they are all great kits, especially both the away ones.

Blackburn’s kit is simple but classy – by far the Blackburn kit.

I voted Sunderland on the basis that the sponsor on Blackburns looks so tacky with the different colour block around the name, and the fact that it’s the only black bit on the away shirt. Sunderland’s isn’t much better but it’s consistent. Oh and the yellow on the Sunderland away really works.
